We were looking to fully refurbish our two bathrooms for some time and it was not until we met and discussed them with Chris Hunt from Room for Improvement were we comfortable moving forward.Chris provided detailed quotes, plus many very good ideas (if you are not quite sure what you want – ask Chris, you will not be disappointed). His attention to detail is incredible and he takes great pride in his work. If he says he will be there you can be guaranteed he will be there. He started on time, every time, and when he is at work he and his staff work, no stopping and starting. His plumber, electrician etc were also very good and Chris ensures that their work is also first class.We have now used Chris many times with additional remodelling of the family room, dining room and kitchen. We had Chris (Room For Improvement Pty Ltd) undertake a number of projects for us over the years. Our 1970s en-suite was in desperate need of replacement. We wanted a high end finish including quality in preparation detail & construction. We had become frustrated with the vague, poorly detailed & inconclusive quotes provided by several bathroom companies & builders. While we appreciate that a ‘no variations’ deal would be unrealistic, we were keen to avoid unacceptable ‘surprises’. Friends referred us to Chris & we are so glad they did.Chris was a breath of fresh air and we discovered he has a wealth of experience in the high end sector both here and overseas. Before quoting, Chris spent considerable time with us measuring & walking us through our options, project timing & construction details. We visited suppliers where Chris's expertise was invaluable with product & tile selection. He knows what works to achieve the high end finish we desired and explained why it works. We agreed with most of his recommendations... his input was invaluable in helping us reach the right decision for us. Chris gave us confidence right from the start.The project was completed on time & on budget & the quality of his preparation has delivered a first class result. Variations were limited to a couple of small (& genuinely) unforeseeable items plus a few changes of mind on our part. Chris accommodated them all with no change in timeline. Chris is a good communicator and he always consulted us on details such as placement of hardware, lighting, power points & numerous other small details he had identified as potentially important to our level of satisfaction. We initially engaged Chris at Room For Improvement to renovate the back of our 50's property - including a kitchen, bathroom, laundry/pantry area and the addition of a powder room. The work included gutting, remodelling and renovating a family bathroom while replacing a rotten floor. We also knocked down an internal wall to open up what was a small and closed kitchen area to the living room and backyard. Chris helped us with a practical and realistic approach to how best to remodel these spaces.The end result has certainly added to the feel and usability of our house. We were very impressed by his knowledge of the technical aspects of the engineering of the house, his attention to detail, and the quality of the work done by him and his contractors. The project ran to time and to budget, which is really something in this industry. We now call on Chris for any building works around our house and get his perspective when looking at further improvements we would like to make.
